Last Updated: September 1, 2023: Horrid efforts since 2022. Horrendous Disney 100 “celebrations.”
Each month Disney adds new films from both Disney and 20th Century Studios (formerly Fox) libraries. Here we’ll keep an ongoing list of library titles each month throughout the year, grouped by release year. Seeing the content in this manner provides an opportunity to look for patterns and try to understand Disney’s pre-existing contracts and title availability. What do you notice?
Please note: SING-ALONGS DO NOT COUNT AS NEW MOVIES.

Our Take
Disney is disgusting for not buying out the Starz / Fox deal. Also, they refuse to use their catalog so it’s the same god damn films over and over cycling. (This take is unchanged for the 6th month in a row. Nothing changes.)

Our Take:
2022 was even worse than 2021! By far. Where is The BFG (2016) (left Netflix March 1, never returned) and Jungle Book 1994 (left HBO March 1 2021? Why did Shaggy Dog (2006) leave in 2019 and never return? Why is the Touchstone library being licensed out so heavily?
Now they’ve removed ALL ABC Family and Freeform films and many ABC films. Negative net gain!

Our Take:
Tomorrowland NEVER should have been added September 3rd. After promoting it since launch (23 months) they pulled it after less than 1 month of availability. VERY misleading and harmful to customer trust.
Maleficent should not have been added either. Gone 2 months later.
With the amount of Disney films missing, this is not good progress being made. The promises made before launch were all exaggerations: “All your favorites in one place;” “Pretty soon after launch almost the entire library…”
