Number-wise this month is solid. Original wise, it’s very shallow. Overall it’s a very weak month and a poor showing for their anniversary month. 1/4 of the library titles added are a music video and 9 animated shorts that were bundled on Netflix into 1 title.
In a bit of very weird optics that nobody else will report – the Wednesday before and after Disney+ Day are the emptiest Wednesdays since they began that release setup. The Disney+ weekly original series run out entirely mere days before Disney+ Day. Where there were once 3-5 series releasing weekly episodes simultaneously, Doogie Kamealoha is the only one at beginning of month while Hawkeye stops by in the last week. Perhaps some of these recent “binge drop” series like Diary of a Future President should not have been binges? This is what Bob Chapek was referring to by Delta / CoVid delays hitting the originals Quarter 4. This is also why the library should be utilized more – for moments like this when things disrupt the Originals chain…
