Everything New Streaming On Disney+ In December 2022

NatGeo+ Continues

Again, not worth typing words. It’s just all Nat Geo. Not even really the recent stuff that’s missing, either. Instead its some random international Nat Geo titles and older titles that will probably only stream a year or t2 before going awaay.

Unhappy Holidays

Disney’s disrespectful treatment of their ABC Family Christmas catalog was not rectified in December. Not only did they remove all 6 remaining titles in October, they sent them (plus many others that had never even been added) to Prime Video, Peacock, Roku, YouTube… you name it. Disney spit on the holidays and ruined their Seasons Streaming campaign.

December is pretty much a clone of November. No variety. Nothing for grown ups unless they like Nat Geo. We’re happy that Disney has the courage to add the Rated R film, Retrograde, but they list it as TV-MA for some reason. Still, because they are suddenly “doing their job” with Nat Geo, we have had 2 of the largest quantity months in a row. To be specific, the past 2 months have been the 2nd and 3rd most ever for catalog. They came so close last month to setting a new record and ending the one that’s stood since the 2nd month of the service in January 2020… Pity 2023 will probably be a huge step back into red and yellow. Prove us wrong, Disney. 🙏

Leaving Disney+ December 1, 2022

The only removal was Miss Perregrine’s. As usual, a Fox film. In January we may finally see the removals of : A Very Boy Band Christmas, X-Men Days of Future Past, The Book of Life, and Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb.

We can confirm that X-Men (2000) WILL leave January 1st.

We’ve been correct every month for the past 8 months about some exiting titles.

Disney also spit in the face of their founder. Just as Disney 100 begins they blew off his 121st birthday the same way they did his 120th last year. Zero vintage catalog. 1 vintage title total in 2022. Extreme disregard for their history.

The Usual “Missing Titles” Watch

Good news! Bridge to Terabithia is finally out of this section because they QUIETLY added it without any promotion. It was a mistake, because it did not even appear in the “New to Disney+” row.

• Epic (2013) Blue Sky film and Dr. Dolittle 2 (2008) both left HBO August 1 and were previously on Disney+ USA.
• Dick Tracy and Jungle Book 1994 left HBO February 28th, 2021. 1 of the 3 stream internationally.
• Dr. Dolittle 5 and Flicka: Country Pride recently left HBO or Starz. All 3 stream internationally and 1 of 3 were once on Disney+ USA.
• The BFG, Tini: The New Life of Violetta remain missing despite Disney+ streaming both internationally and pulling them off Netflix February 28, 2022. The BFG just went to Showtime! Tini appears to have been vaulted because Disney doesn’t prioritize international content, but they aired her concert on Disney+ earlier this summer. Their team is not the sharpest as that was the ideal time to add the film. As we mentioned earlier, Hispanic Heritage month was the ideal time to add Tini… Oh, and they missed another chance on Violetta’s recent 10th anniversary. Instead they just added the new reunion special Just Love and a Thousand Songs
• Shaggy Dog (2006) – Removed December 2019. Has never appeared anywhere since.
• Everybody’s Hero and Eddie the Eagle remain lost after mysterious removals.
• Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked never returned after leaving for Peacock, then leaving Peacock. It’s believed they may be heading to Starz or HBO due to the extended absence.

Final Thoughts

December is mostly Nat Geo, Originals, and nothing else. Since they blew off the Christmas catalog we give this month 2.5 stars. Last month our final thoughts were identical, but we gave 3.5 since they hadn’t yet blow Christmas.
