“Month 3 of Nat Geo+”

The cracks have arrived in the Disney+ armor once again. In month 3 of receiving almost entirely Nat Geo, the quantity has reduced. Instead of 30 titles from the brand like in November and 29 in December we’ve plunged to 18. Not only that, the drop once again includes numerous international Nat Geo titles instead of (as opposed to in addition to) the recently aired Nat Geo content like Latin America from Above: From Baja to Patagonia, Life Below Zero season 19 and 20, Super Frenchie, and the suddenly surging list of new Hulu exclusives such as Life Below Zero: Next Generation season 5, Maradona Confidential, Taste of the Wild, Lost and Found, and Pablo Escobar: Man vs Myth.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is blown off for the 3rd year in a row. Where are the many Nat Geo titles relate MLK? For example, Martin Luther King Jr: Marked Man, The March on Washington: Keepers of the Dream, and Rise Again: Tulsa and the Red Summer. All of these are available on Hulu, NatGeoTV.com, or both!

In addition, all other brands are vacant. January 2023 is a shameful, discouraging effort from their content team.

Their terrible brilliant team has yet again skipped a movie drop day despite their refusal to add catalog films and the 2022 trend of quietly adding returning films without promotion. Great service! They stopped adding ESPN 30 for 30s halfway through the catalog (USA only) this past fall and then pretend like they have no content for today.

Another of their frequent ghost additions. Chorus? Oh yeah… they unprofessionally tweeted that Chorus, another Latin American original, was now streaming. That was weeks ago. They left the tweet up despite everybody calling them out for the lie. So yeah, we urge you to NOT trust this and just hope it shows up.

Leaving Disney+ February 1, 2023

For the first time in many months, we do NOT know for sure of any films leaving February 1st, but we do expect the removal of these films and specials in the near future: X-Men Days of Future Past, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, A Very Boy Band Holiday, West Side Story: Something’s Coming, and The Magic Maker. For reasons, just ask!

We’ve been correct every month for the past 10 months about some exiting titles! We are the only source that has this knowledge and can warn you. 🙂 Last month it was X-Men (2000), X-Men First Class (2011), and The Book of Life (2014) and we told you were on their way out. Sadly, welost more than that, such as Thumbelina and Rookie of the Year.

Until Disney+ properly employs a next or same day streaming strategy for Nat Geo and Nat Geo Wild series and specials, we will continue to track the slow pace they add content.

Despite the influx of Nat Geo in November – January, the 2020-2023 specials remain far behind and now Hulu has become a massive roadblock as it receives new content weekly.

The Usual “Missing Titles” Watch

Good news! Bridge to Terabithia is finally out of this section because they QUIETLY added it without any promotion. It was a mistake, because it did not even appear in the “New to Disney+” row.

• Epic (2013) Blue Sky film and Dr. Dolittle 2 (2008) both left HBO August 1 and were previously on Disney+ USA.
• Dick Tracy and Jungle Book 1994 left HBO February 28th, 2021. 1 of the 3 stream internationally.
• Dr. Dolittle 5 and Flicka: Country Pride recently left HBO or Starz. All 3 stream internationally and 1 of 3 were once on Disney+ USA.
• The BFG, Tini: The New Life of Violetta remain missing despite Disney+ streaming both internationally and pulling them off Netflix February 28, 2022. The BFG just left! Tini appears to have been vaulted because Disney doesn’t prioritize international content, but they aired her concert on Disney+ earlier this summer. Their team is not the sharpest as that was the ideal time to add the film. As we mentioned earlier, Hispanic Heritage month was the ideal time to add Tini… Oh, and they missed another chance on Violetta’s recent 10th anniversary. Instead they just added the new reunion special Just Love and a Thousand Songs. Yet another missed opportunity: Tini Tour 2022: Farewell of the Year recently livestreamed…
• Shaggy Dog (2006) – Removed December 2019. Has never appeared anywhere since.
• Everybody’s Hero and Eddie the Eagle remain lost after mysterious removals.
• Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked never returned after leaving for Peacock, then leaving Peacock. It’s believed they may be heading to Starz or HBO due to the extended absence.
